Following the closure of Odom Garden in preparation for the pre-construction work, we are thrilled to share an exciting update with you about the trees that sheltered our pop-up park.
Committed to creating a greener environment, we have taken meticulous measures to ensure the future of the trees that have graced Odom’s pre-build site. This endeavor was made possible through our collaboration with OCIC, a visionary group responsible for investing in the transfer and designation of these trees. With the support of Chairman Neak Okhna Dr. Pung Kheav Se and Dr. Carolyne Pung, along with the dedicated efforts of Mr. Thierry Tea, vice-president of OCIC, and Mr. Jovany Antonio, almost 40 trees were saved. They were carefully transported to a temporary nursery on Koh Pich, a growing district along the Tonle Sap and Bassac river, where they will be nurtured and planted to enhance the beauty and tranquility of our city’s landscape.
At Odom, we recognize the importance of preserving green spaces and providing the community with areas to connect with nature. By relocating the trees to Koh Pich, we are safeguarding their well-being and creating a promising future for a new public green space in Phnom Penh. Once settled, these trees will continue to provide shade, improve air quality, and offer a serene sanctuary for residents and visitors alike. The newly envisioned public green space at Koh Pich will become a haven for relaxation and recreation, reminiscent of the essence of Odom Garden that was promised well after the construction of our new Odom project.
